Fireproof glass for a public place in Modena

For a well-known restaurant in Modena, San.Co supplied a fireproof glass compass customized to the needs of the customer and the space in which it was going to be located.

The place, dedicated to contemporary design, is a point of reference for the Modenese nightlife. A minimalist-inspired furniture with ample plays of light and transparency makes the project particularly interesting in both rooms which are located on different floors. To connect the two floors safely, San.Co was commissioned to design, build and overall execute a custom-made compass with fire-resistant glass that would compartmentalize the internal staircase.

The entire compass has been certified EI60 ‘using an Isofireglas open-jointed fireproof glass resistant to 60 minutes fire and two Isofireglas SteelSwing doors to close the compartment; the flight of the staircase was compartmentalized with shaped Isofireglas glass sheets and blind plasterboard closures; to lighten the aesthetic impact of the glass, the 90 ° corners were made without profiles.
