San.Co is one of the main suppliers for the construction of the interiors of the new M9 museum in Mestre with various fire and smoke protection solutions.

The M9 museum in Mestre, inaugurated at the end of 2018, was one of the most anticipated museum projects of recent years in Italy. An innovative project, made with highly ecological and latest generation materials and construction techniques. If interactivity is the leitmotif of the experience that the museum wants to convey to the visitor, ecology and energy efficiency were the guiding principles of the project. The winner of the international architecture competition was the Berlin studio Sauerbruch Hutton.

M9, with its 10,000 square meters, is not just an important museum project but one of the most significant urban regeneration operations in recent years. The new M9 Mestre museum, a museum of the 20th century, is designed to talk about the past century with the optics and technologies of the new millennium.

The role of San.Co in the path of birth and planning of the redevelopment of the area of ​​the new M9 museum has been a crescendo that has led it from a simple supplier of wooden fire doors to a central interlocutor for the development of technical solutions in various parts interior of the building. San.Co has provided its technical support both in the design phase and in the implementation. The Mestre museum, in fact, has allowed the company to demonstrate all its versatility, developing and implementing tailor-made solutions to the needs of such a particular and challenging project.

M9 is one of the custom made projects that symbolize the company’s technological evolution.

Specifically, San.Co has supplied and installed the LZ58.60.39 fireproof wooden doors (60 minutes fire resistant and with 39dB noise reduction) – Isofire L120 (EI 120) – Isofire LM 58.60 (with wooden door and frame in metal, fire resistant 60 minutes) – Isofire LZ V&V EI60 (with swing doors without central lock fire resistant 60 minutes).

In addition, the wood paneling, the false ceilings, the furniture of the lockers and bookshop area were supplied up to the reception counters. All following the common thread desired by the designers, namely the use of the baubuche.

Among the various areas that saw the intervention of San.Co there was also the auditorium, the flagship of the M9 Museum, for which the doors, coverings and ceilings in baubuche were provided.

All supplies have been certified for reaction to fire in class B, s2-d0 and for resistance to fire according to the EN 1634-1 standard.

A truly extensive project that has seen San.Co as the primary supplier of fireproof solutions in wood and glass and of special customized fittings.
